History of the band:

Nickelback is a 4-piece,originally from Hanna, Alberta, but moved to Vancouver, BC, because there was no music scene in Hanna.
The band Nickelback is comprised of brothers Chad (lead vocals, guitar)& Mike Kroeger(bass), and Ryan Peake (guitar & vocals)and Edmonton's Ryan Vikedal(drums).
The group formed in 1996 and soon after released the seven-song demo "HESHER", which they supported with consistent gigs troughout Canada.
Their talented songwriting and charismatic stage presence have gained them momentous attention. In 1997 "CURB" their first cd release, eamed Nickelback a nomination for "ALBUM OF THE YEAR-Independent Distribution" at the Pacific Music Industry Awards.
Their debut album "CURB" generated more interest in the band,which led to more touring and more involved recording sessions for their second album "THE STATE" which the band released on their own label in 1999. The album was released in the US on ROADRUNNER RECORDS at the beginning of 2000.

What Do They Sound Like ?

"Where NIRVANA sounded cynical and apathetic, NICKELBACK sounds warm and energetic. If these guys are so good live(and they are)as they sound on disc, they'll put on quite a show."
